Margaret Adams – In print

Margaret Adams

I write about personal development, career management, business development, business communications, marketing and personal effectiveness.

I do this in different contexts.  That is I write for different market niches.

You’ll find my work around the web and in a number of print journals.

I write regularly on continuous professional development issues for Sec Ed, a journal serving the secondary education sector in the UK.

I write, too, for 5 to 7 – Early Years Educator, a monthly magazine for teachers working with young children – those aged five to seven.

I’m a columnist for FE News, an online news magazine for the further education sector, where I write hints and tips for colleges on how they can earn more of their income from the private sector.

I’ve written quite a bit on work-life balance and related themes.  I have had pieces published in a range of trade journals, including People Management, which is the UK’s leading magazine for HR professionals and in the Times Educational Supplement.

I’ve written on flexible working and environmentally-friendly approaches to training for Sustainable Solutions and a series of articles on modern marketing for T Mag, a journal serving the post-compulsory education sector.

I’m also the author of four books.

My most recent book is:

How to take charge of your teaching career which was published by Continuum International Publishing in 2008.

I have also written a number of training manuals, some for publication and some for the use of our clients in their own training departments.

These manuals include e-learning guides as well as handbooks.

The Work-Life Balance Trainer's ManualThe Work-Life Balance Trainer’s Manual remains a popular resource.

I wrote this several years ago when I was undertaking lots of training and consultancy work linked to this subject.

I draw on the material in a number of my own training sessions today,  so I know the material is still topical.

The manual covers just about everything you need to know about setting up a work-life balance programme in an organisation.  It’s a guide that will help HR professionals and trainers alike.  It’s got step-by-step guidance about how to introduce work-life balance policies and processes.  It also helps HR professionals to evaluate the impact of their work-life balance interventions.
