For the last five years I have been building my reputation, and my business, online. I am a consultant, trainer, writer and speaker who knows how to help business owners and solo professionals to use their online presence to drive business growth and increase profits.
I know how to do this because I have used exactly the same strategies I now teach my clients to re-ignite and rebuild my own business.
Let me explain.
Until 2010 my business had lots of clients virtually all of whom were in the public sector. In 2010 the public sector here in the UK stopped spending money, or rather, it stopped spending money on the sort of support we offered.
The result was that until the end of March 2010, my diary was full. From the start of April 2010 it was almost empty. I suddenly had to go out and find new business.
This was challenging. I had hardly any private sector contacts. I had no private sector strategic partners. I had never attended a business networking meeting. I had no products or services that suited a private sector marketplace. I had no idea of what I wanted to sell and to whom I wanted to sell it.
The business could have folded.
It survived and it is now growing again because I decided to build my reputation and standing online. I decided to create products that could be sold widely to people I never met. I focused on developing and then selling something that people wanted. Most importantly, I recognised the value of LinkedIn and I taught myself how to use the platform to create relationships with lots of different people. I then learned how to use the power of LinkedIn to promote and sell what I do – starting with creating a great LinkedIn profile.
You can see from this website that my focus is now on helping business owners to use LinkedIn to find leads and to generate new business. I teach the strategies I have devised, tested and refined since 2010. I work with groups of business owners, or I work in-house in growing organisations, to help businesses to make more of LinkedIn.
My clients apply the strategies I teach and their businesses grow.
My aim now is to help other business owners to achieve the same sort of results and the same success using LinkedIn.
