Take advantage of available support

If you’re starting a professional services business, starting a consulting business or looking to grow an existing business, there’s lots of work you need to do on your own business to achieve the success you’re looking for.

Many businesses focus on their own plans and work in isolation to implement them.

Of course, you need a business development plan.  You need a profit plan.  You need good plans for a variety of different aspects of your business.

You also need to be aware of the offers, initiatives and support that’s available to you to take up.  This means you need to go out and look for it.

You need to be on the alert all the time for these support programmes because they are there to help business and your business, especially in its early years, will benefit from additional guidance.

Don’t wait until you’re looking for a specific sort of support.  Find out what is available and if you can benefit from it, take it up.

This is the second tip in a series of one hundred tips for people starting a consulting business.

What to do now

Are you confident you know what sort of support is available to help your business to survive and then grow?

If you’re already in business what types of support have you been able to access?  How has it helped you?

Leave a comment.  Let me know how you’re making use of the guidance and help that’s available.
